Computers, smart phones and touch-screen tablets are some of the most valuable tools available to help older Americans remain in their homes as they age.

Hi! I also agree that today’s technology translated into products or services greatly helps seniors. For example, among useful devices like the one that turns off a stove that's been left unattended, seniors can also benefit from a free service like Smart911. It is available to citizens in select areas across the country and enables them to create a Smart Safety Profile, in which they include emergency contacts – like their children or a caregiver - special health conditions, or medications and even pictures of themselves. This crucial information is immediately available to 9-1-1 dispatchers when an emergency call is made and valuable minutes and seconds can be saved while sending the appropriate help faster. The Smart911 service is 100% private & secure and is being implemented by local 9-1-1 centers across the U.S. You can view a video on the service at www.smart911.com/movie for more info. Anyway, I hope it helps you and you can spread the word about it!

    Best,

    Ev

I have to agree with this. Technology can help keep the seniors safe and at the same time save the lives of people with serious medical condition. With the help of the most advanced durable medical equipment like iphone ECG device, medical alarms and others, they will have a peace of mind and feel safe all the time.

Technology advancement will surely help us in keeping our elder safe as when we move out of the house we may remain in their contact in order to determine they are safe or not.

     Ev,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is a great idea and I will be sure to pass it along to our clients in those territories that Smart911 covers. I just signed up so that 911 will be alerted that I have a small dog in the house.
