please help with what to do?

i am just learning that my mom may have dementia or alzheimers. she's 82 and lives in senior housing in oxford, ct. my brother and sister live near her, but i live 200 miles away. they help as much as they can but i want to help too. neither of them have ANY money to help. i have a little money saved and am thinking that we maybe need visiting nurses or SOMETHING that can be with mom every day - she needs to take medication, insuline, locks herself out of her apartment often and forgets entire events.

i don't know where to start. i think of taking her to live with me but i rent at someone's house..i don't want to uproot her from familiar surroundings either. i can't live with her at senior housing.

sorry it's so long. any advice or experience that someone's had with this situation would be appreciated.

    Hi!

I understand this is a difficult decision for you to make. Since you might not be able to afford a nursing home or 24hr care provider, maybe you can find a senior care provider for a couple hours a day or week to help her do chores, take her medicine etc.

Here's a helpful article Choosing Home Care Services That Meet Your Needs. And, you can do a search on google for "private duty home care oxford ct" to look for part time help.
