My mom was diagnosed with cancer the last day of May. She was my best friend but also the one who cared for my children everyday while I worked. She was a healthy 66 year old woman determined to beat this disease. The odds seemed good and we were all optimistic. But the fear of losing her inspired me to buy an album that called Grandmother's Memories. At the time my daughter was 8 years old so she was very excited to fill it in with my mother and I. We brought it to the hospital during her chemo treatments and had a blast interviewing her and listening to her stories. Unfortunately her condition turned bad unexpectedly. We ended up losing her on Sept 21st that year. We only got through about 5 pages in our album. We thought we had so much time left together. Don't procrastinate learning more about the ones you love, you just might miss the chance.
If you have never seen these albums you can get them in most any card store or gift shop. They are wonderful. Not only is it a great keepsake but it really can help to get to know the people you love while they are still in your life.
