    AARP & Secure Horizons

My mother has "Medicare Complete" through Secure Horizons. SH likes to DICTATE what doctor one will or will not see. The original doctor SH referred us to (Dr. Joseph King) is not taking any new patients.  I had read that AARP was going to team up with Secure Horizons.  I had also read that as a member of AARP, one could choose one's own doctor, so via the Alzheimer's Association, I located a Dr. Wendy Collini, who practices in Mansfield, TX.  Dr. Collini takes regular Medicare. In March 2008, I received two huge packets from SH and AARP containing all sorts of insurance "mumbo-jumbo".  My mother was also issued a new insurance card with the words "AARP Medicare Complete provided through Secure Horizons" at the top.  The problem is that Dr. King is still listed as my mother's PCP.

Wanting to have Dr. King's name replaced with Dr. Collini's has become a MAJOR problem.  I have spoken with reps  from AARP, who referred me to Secure Horizons, who referred me to the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, who referred me to Social Security, who referred me back to AARP, who referred me back to Secure Horizons, etc., etc., etc.

All I want is to have Dr. Collini listed as my mother's major doctor.  How do I do this without making all of the computers in Texas go into a major meltdown mode?!?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
