I agree with you Paul, "THE SAVAGES" is an excellent movie that truly shows us the process when you adult children are faced caring for a loved one such as a parent. What was unique, but rang so true , was the lack of involvment the parent really had with his adult children. There was a touching moment, when the sister said to her brother, "Did Dad just give up on us?"

The financial aspects of the movie were really good, especially in a second marriage(or common law spouses) it shows what can really happen to the surviving spouse.

Great movie, all of us at the age of 36 to 66- should watch this movie. It is enlightening.

There is a movie I just saw yesterday, the title is "Savages", which is completely miss leading. If you have a loved one who needs some type of special care, this movie depicts the human dynamics involved when a family is thrown into a positon where they need to take care of their Dad. You need to see this movie if you are a family in crisis, or you work in the Eldercare industry. As an advisor with A Place for Mom, families have shared very similar examples of the situations they had to work through with their loved one.

The movie shows how a Sister and Brother struggle to help their Dad live the remainder of his life with some dignity. As you watch it, you will be able to relate to many of the family problems we all work through in our lives. The movie will help you laugh and cry at the same time, while you see how the actors cope with the issues.
