Hello,
I'm new to this. My father was just diagnosted with Dementia. He's on new medication, and is doing much better. He's been in the hospital for a little over a week.
They discharged him last night, and he went to a Convalescent Home for Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy. My brother and Mother went to see him tonite, and needless to say, they were both very upset when they entered the facility. Once they saw my father....he was very upset too, and has only been there one night. He said the person that brought him to the facility in the van, literally left him in there for almost a 1/2 hr. He said the place is like a prison, and my brother and mother agreed.
My parents live in a 55 and older apt complex, but there is no assistance there for my father. My mother has had 2 heart attacks in the past 2 yrs, and is not able to give my father the care and therapy he needs right now.
Again, he is much better now than he was before...but I need to find a place for him to have his physical therapy and rehabilitation.
They have Medicare and Medical, and now also have SCAN. They receive social security.
Any information on finding a place ASAP would be greatly appreciated.
Preferrably in the Santa Clarita Valley area.
