I encourage all my families to use a speciality senior moving company to assist and to even unpack and help with the move out and the move in. FYI - move managers are located throughout the US with some being located in other countries including Canada and Australia.  As one of the founders of the organization - National Association of Senior Move Mangers, I would very much recommend you look at the web site - www.nasmm.org.  There is a part of the web site that will allow you to locate a move manager in your area.  The locate page also includes the year that the company joined NASMM.  Move management has become a very hot 'thing to do' recently.  There are all sorts of companies out there, some better than others.  Although a company doesn't have to be a member of NASMM to do move management, the organization does have some basic qualifications including insurance.  

 Moving is stressful.  A good move manager can aleviate much of the worry in not only moving but also clearing out the former residence.
