    Too Few Seniors Get Vaccines

While researching on the MI Seniors website, I can accross this information and link about Seniors and Vacinations.  I was very interested in the news that a vaccine against Shingles is available and recommended for those over 60.  I know that this (shingles)  can be extremely painful, and its good to hear that it may be prevented!

CDC: "Too Few Adults Get Their Vaccines"

Vaccines aren't just for kids, but far too few grown ups are receiving protection against diseases like shingles and whooping cough. The Centers for Disease Control reports that 2 percent of Americans ages 60 and older received a vaccine against shingles in its first year of sales. There are more than 1 million new cases of shingles each year, and up to 200,000 develop complications.

See the Centers for Disease Control for a list of diseases that can be prevented by immunization. Some immunizations are vital for senior citizens, and others are appropriate for only certain people.

It's true that Shingles is very painful,  I would be interested to know if Medicare covers the vaccine, I understand that it is expensive.
