    Need Help

I travel for work alot. I have my dad(82yr) living with me. He has been fine but I just returned home and I can tell he needs help with little things.

Any ideas whom can help with various things. My exwife has been doing his pills for him but I really can't count on her forever.

I have contacted meals on wheels but they haven't returned my calls.

    Any ideas ????

    Hi there,

If you plan on having your dad continue to live with you, then home care might be a good option for you.  Home care is generally defined as non-medical support services delivered at the home of the senior.  Home care companies assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation but may also extend to assistance with transportation, paying bills, making appointments, and simply being there to provide companionship and emotional support. Home care services are generally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be paid for directly by the client or through a variety of public and private funding sources such as Medicare and/or Medicaid.

If you'd like to explore home care and other options, I would suggest contacting A Place for Mom directly at 1-877-MOM-DAD9.  You'll be put into touch with a professional eldercare advisor in your area who will discuss your situation and provide options for you all free of charge.

Don't hesitate to email or call me with questions!
