    Spirituality!. What do you think?!.

    Dear friend.

I have been working with those in later life for many years and have been interested in the topic of spirituality and the older person for a long time.
I have come accross some people who talk of how important faith or spirituality is to them. And, there may be a need for someone in later years to ask certain
questions about what gives them meaning, or what happens around death, or what their feelings or ideas of God may be.

And they may need someone to ask them 'the right' questions, and to listen!.
I am interested to hear from you / the older person (or anyone else) about their thoughts in this area.

    Thanks very much.

    Love from Gavin

I think it becomes important because we are in need of someone to believe in, to pray to -- a higher being that can be the basis of our faith. Someone we can call on during hard times in our lives. It also guides us to live in the right direction, to fear a higher authority.

I know in talking to my mom that as she ages she has become more spiritual and increasingly wants to talk about her feelings and fears. Growing up I remember mom as very anti-church, not necessarily atheist just not about church. Now she attends regularly and often asks me to go with her.
